Shield is a pick-up that can be found in Multiplayer or Singleplayer. It adds an armor point, the equivalent of a Heart. Now, you can only have armor points if your previous armor points are gone. If you lose it all, and then pick up one of these, it gives you full armor points.
Obtaining
Shield is a rare pick-up found on any map. It commonly appears more on the ground in Survival. Buying Wooden Armor and it's upgrades gives you additional shields, that reappear when you respawn.
Use
Armor can be used to restore your armor points of your armor, to a max of 3 armor points higher than wielded armor, or 36 armor points, therefore allowing you to survive shots or explosives that could damage you normally wouldn't be able to withstand and saving you.
Trivia
- Armor points stack up to 36 armor points, on the UI, wooden shield is 1 armor point, iron is 2, gold is 3 and crystal is 4.
- Purchasable armor, can prove useful in later waves in Survival, assuming one scores points often enough to make up for the cost of said armor.
- For an unknown reason, a player may have all his armor points restored during gameplay.
- Armors were taken out of the game and replaced as shields because of issues with Mojang.
