Pixel Gun World. A good game that could be compared to other underrated Steam games in terms of general gameplay and developer generosity. Something unlike PG3D, the game it was ported from.
Then, June 10th, 2015 came. The game completely crippled without any prior announcement. Everybody was devastated. Some really want the game to come back. However, I doubt it will come back. Why?
THE ENTIRE GAME WAS A SETUP JUST FOR RILISOFT TO GET MONEY.
You want to hear theories?
When PGW was first released, 3D was in a deadly state. PG3D became a rigged game built with greed. RiliSoft was getting money over their past respect during the pre-8.3.0 days. They turned to the dark side. They wanted to get money by rigging PG3D. But this clearly wasn't enough if they needed extreme amounts of €€€. Practically, this is my paradigm on the backstory of World.
RiliSoft was a company with 7 employees before PG3D was made. As 3D grew, they needed more employees to keep the game going. With the amount of money they earned before were added, they hired a new set of employees to work on PG3D. The old employees were called in to work on a new game to cater for bigger gaming communities. Knowing all the good things implemented into PG3D, they had to sample that information into World. A few different features to properly cater for the PC gaming community, and bam. Done and done with the development of the closed beta, and they were already receiving cash. The game didn't even need a Kickstarter. People found the game better than PG3D, and were fine with spending their money, since the game was already worth a free download.
A year into PGW, RiliSoft never cared about the state of PG3D, since the more experienced developers behind World helped them escape bankruptcy. When they received more than enough money, their plan 100% succeeded. They closed it down, ran away with everyone's money, and don't even bother bringing it back anymore, since PG3D is slowly turning into PGW, only trashed.
So this is where I end this theory. Is this theory something good or a bag of bullets? That's where you guys come in.
